How To Upload Fonts To Cricut Design Space? [9 Easy Steps]

Got a new font and want to learn how to upload fonts to the Cricut Design Space? Or maybe you want to expand the Cricut font library with custom fonts. This post will show us how to upload fonts to Cricut Design Space and use newly installed Cricut fonts.

Cricut Design Space has a bunch of fonts; it’s true. And if you’ve a Cricut Access subscription, you’ve even more font options at your fingertips. But sometimes, you need to find that perfect font elsewhere. And if you want to be able to use downloaded fonts in Cricut projects, you need to understand how to upload fonts to Cricut Design Space software.

Step By Step Instructions: How To Upload Fonts To Cricut Design Space

Let’s discuss how fonts work in the Cricut Design Space in the following:

Step 1: First, open the computer’s Cricut Design Space (App). It is free software you can download and install on a Mac or PC, which works with the Cricut machine of preference.

Here is what your Home Screen looks like in the Cricut Design Space.

Step 2: To access the Cricut font library, tap to create a New Project. We can tap on the icon at the top or bottom of your screen, where we can find project history.

Step 3: Looking at the project, it can be overwhelming to consider how to upload fonts to Cricut Design Space? Where are the fonts? It can be a bit confusing at first when you want to know how to add fonts to Cricut Design Space, as it looks and acts like its own special (sometimes hidden) library.

Press on the text icon on the left side to get started.

Step 4: Before we can edit text or experiment with Cricut font options, we need to add some text. With the Text tool set, press to get started, and enter any sample text you like. Any text here will do. Note that this opening box is for typing only.

Then, Cricut Design Space renders text.

Step 5: Now, with text placed, ensure to tap on it to fix it. We won’t see text options at the top of your screen if the text isn’t active. This is how it looks when your text is selected.

Step 6: Look at the top of your screen with the selected text. Here, we can adjust the font, size, letter spacing, curves, etc.

Again, it will only be visible if the text is active.

Step 7: Press the Font dropdown menu mentioned below. It is where we can choose a new Cricut font.

Step 8: Pressing on the font dropdown menu in the following Fonts window.

Here, we can take a look at available fonts. Most of the ones listed are part of Cricut’s font library. We can also buy more fonts within the Cricut Design Space.

Step 9: But available fonts depend on 2 sources: the Cricut font library and system fonts. The Cricut font library is native to the Cricut Design Space, while system fonts are native to computers.

So, keep in mind if you want to know how to download fonts in the Cricut Design Space or upload fonts in Cricut. You’ve 3 options when it comes to the Cricut font library:

The default Cricut font choice came with the Cricut machine.

Premium Cricut font option, which you can buy individually or through Cricut Access.

System Fonts, which give you the freedom to download fonts for Cricut in any style.

If you look at the font option, you can toggle between All, System, and Cricut fonts. Also, you can search for a font by name in the Search Font bar.
